LET’S TALK LEMON ESSENTIAL OIL

Lemon essential oil has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for at least 1000 years. Chinese medicine has used it for conditions related to dampness, such as Candida, common cold, infections, loose stools, respiratory issues, and sore throats. Other things Lemon EO has been used for throughout history is for gall stones and to support are liver health.

WHAT DOES LEMON ESSENTIAL DO?

TOP 3 CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS

Some essential oils have 300 chemical constituents that affect the body in various ways. The top three in each EO are the ones to look at when choosing to use an EO for a particular purpose. Lemon EO has the following top three.

  • 72% D-limonene (shown to possess anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-stress, and possibly disease-preventing properties)
  • 12% Beta-pinene (shown to have potential anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and antimicrobial properties)
  • 8% Gamma-terpinene (shown to have strong antioxidant activity; studied for anti-inflammatory benefits)
